Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 is a program used for editing videos. It is developed and published by Adobe Systems, Inc. The company officially released the CS5 version on April 30, 2010. It is included in the Adobe CS5 Production Premium as well as the CS5 Master Collection. Aside from the main application, Premiere Pro CS5 comes with the Adobe OnLocation CS5, Media Encoder CS5, Encore CS5, Bridge CS5, and Device Central CS5.

Several changes and additions have been made to Premiere Pro CS5. Here are some of those:

• Mercury Playback Engine – This new feature offers users with native 64-bit and GPU-accelerated support. This allows the editing of high-resolution footages in real time without rendering the video first or transcode/rewrap the video to lower its resolution.
• Increased Tapeless Format Support – Premiere Pro CS5 added support for other tapeless formats including Panasonic AVCCAM, Sony XDCAM HD, AVC-Intra, and DPX. Other new formats supported by the program include variants of Sony XDCAM, Panasonic P2, XDCAM EX, AVCHD, HDV, and XDCAM.
• RED R3D Source Settings – Premiere Pro CS5 offers a new dialog box for the RED R3D Source Settings that provides users control the RED RAW footage look. Aside from this, this new dialog box provides different configuration options including Chroma, Debayer Detail, White Balance, Timecode, Maximum Bit Depth, and more.
• Integration with Avid Editing and Apple Final Cut Pro applications – The CS5 version of Premiere offers users the ability to share video assets and projects between the program and Avid NLEs or Final Cut Pro.
