Adobe Audition, formerly called Cool Edit Pro, is a digital audio editing suite that was initially released in August 2003. It consists of high-performance editing, mixing, and restoration tools for audio production. The program has an intuitive user interface that groups panels together for easy organization. It also feature a high-performance audio engine that speeds up the editing process and makes it easy for users to open, save, and process audio files. Other quick editing features include view markers, edit preview, clip grouping, and more.

With Adobe Audition, users can use as many stereo tracks when editing. This is only limited by the CPU’s power. Several audio affects are available, too. Some of these are Generate Tones, Doppler Shifter, Graphic Phase Shifter, and Notch Filter. The software comes with audio problem fixing tools, such as Adaptive Noise Reduction, DeClicker, and the Audio Healing Paintbrush.
