Sports Car GT is a car racing game developed by Electronic Arts, based on GT racing. The game was released on April 1999. The game involves players participating in the GT races vying for the top position. The game offers a variety of cars to race with, including the Porsche 911 GT2, Porsche 911 Carrera, the BMW M3, Esperante GT-R, Vector M-12, Lister Storm, Callaway C12, and the Mosler Raptor, among many others. There are also two fictional cars used in this game namely: the GTR, and the Wiggler Motors Rattlesnake.

Sports Car GT races are held on several locations: some real locations, and a number of fictional ones.  Race tracks that are based on real locations include the Hockenheimring, Road Atlanta, Mosport Park, Desert Speedway, Lime Rock Park, Sebring International Raceway, Laguna Seca Raceway, and Donington Park. Race tracks based on fictional locations are Chatham, Sardian Park, and North Point.

Sports Car GT can be played in two modes: Season mode and Arcade mode. Season mode requires the players to participate in four GT classes for the whole season. Each classes are composed of five race tracks, with the exception of GT1 having only four. The player has to finish in the top 3 for each race to achieve cash rewards. These cash rewards can then be used to upgrade their cars for future races.  Arcade mode allows players to challenge another car according to certain parameters including GT class car, player’s car, race length, and track. The game features a Time Trial mode to attempt to beat track records using the car in the Season mode.
