KNetWalk (Network Construction Game)

KDE (Open Source)

KNetWalk (Network Construction Game) is a small arcade game developed by KDE as part of its kdegames package. The objective of the game is to build a computer network. The game interface displays a number of computers scattered across the board. Each computer may be connected to each other using pre-set wires. The wires may not be straightened or moved to another location. However, they can be rotated in their axis so as to create one big computer network. Each puzzle game is solvable and all the user needs to do is to apply logic to deduce how to connect the computers together.

KNetWalk (Network Construction Game) game play is simple. Players can rotate the wires using the mouse buttons. Right clicking a wire rotates it to the right, while left clicking the same wire rotates to the left. To make the position or orientation permanent, players can mark the particular square or wire as blocked. This effectively blocks any other movement of action for the marked element. Marking is done by clicking the middle button on the mouse.

KNetWalk (Network Construction Game) allows users to change the difficulty level for the game from Easy to Very Hard. The game ends only when all the wires and the computers are connected to the server. The score depends on the number of clicks or rotations made by the player—the less clicks, the higher the score.
