Saw: The Video Game is a survival horror video game that was first released on October 2009. The game is based on the horror film franchise, Saw. In the game, players assume the role of ex-detective David Tapp. At the beginning of the game, The Jigsaw Killer has cured Tapp from a gunshot wound. He is then taken to an abandoned asylum where The Jigsaw Killer has placed traps in order to teach him about the appreciation of life.

The player’s main mission is to go through the asylum and escape traps in order to survive and escape. There are several items hidden throughout the asylum that will help the player gather clues. Some of these objects include weapons, health, and cassette tapes. Some of the items collected will also provide information about The Jigsaw Killer’s past victims. The player has several skills in the game including blocking and attacking enemies. The game features more than 18 different weapons that can be used to eliminate enemies. Some of these items include explosives, guns, pipes, and mop handles. Aside from the main goal, players are also presented with mini games.

Saw: The Video Game comes with an Unreal Editor application. This enables users to create modifications and new levels for the game.
