iExplorer

Macroplant (Shareware)

iExplorer is an application for transferring files (audio, image, video, contacts, voicemail, and SMS messages) from iPods, iPads, and iPhones to the computer or to iTunes. iExplorer has an interface similar to iTunes. The left hand panel shows the connected devices and all the media files listed in categories (Apps, Backups, Photos, iCloud, Media Library, and Bookmarks). The program is easy to use even for beginners. It has a drag and drop functionality that enables users to drag items from a device directly to the computer or to the interface of iExplorer.

The program can also be used for managing file information. The program unifies files and searches for duplicates. It automatically skips importing of duplicate files from a single device or from several devices. In addition, it also saves metadata (song title, artist, album, play count, ratings, etc.) when the files are transferred to the computer.

iExplorer has mounting capabilities, too. The devices can be accessed like a flash drive and users can view items displayed in a manner similar to Windows Explorer. Also, files can be saved directly to the device without using another program, such as iTunes. iExplorer has built-in utilities for browsing, saving, exporting, and previewing files. All these can be done with just a few clicks.
