NFS Hot Pursuit 2

EA Seattle (Proprietary)

Need for Speed, or NFS Hot Pursuit 2 is a racing game. It is the first game in the Need for Speed series that does not have a cockpit view. In this game, players race against other cars while avoiding the police. Players can choose from a number of different cars to use in the game, including exotic models such as the Ferrari 360 Spider and the Lamborghini Murcielago, one of the most expensive cars in the world. Other cars include the Dodge Viper GTS, McLaren F1, Aston Martin V12, and Lotus Elise, among others.

One of the features of this game is the “Be the Cop” mode, in which players assume the role of a police officer to arrest the speeders. In order to catch the offenders, players must disable the speeding car by ramming it multiple times. Police cars have lights and sirens that are automatically turned off once a suspect has been arrested. In addition, players in the role of police officers can call for additional units, have a barricade put up, and even request a helicopter to aid in chasing a speeding vehicle. The more offenders are arrested by the player, the more awards he or she will earn in the game. The other play modes include Time Trial, Lap Knockout, Championship, Hot Pursuit, Top Cop, and Challenge.
NFS Hot Pursuit 2 has support for up to eight players via online or LAN connection.
