This application is a component of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Prelude, and Adobe Premiere Pro. Adobe Media Encoder CS5 allows users to encode faster and utilize preset favorites for configuring single source for output. Users can output work for any format or device using this program.

Adobe Media Encoder CS5 features Preset Browser that allows users to access frequently used presets. The Preset Browser can also be used for organizing presets according to favorites, categories or customized presets. The program’s Watch Folders can be used for encoding video from one source to several output formats. It also has RED Scarlet-X, RED EPID, and ARRIRAW Support allowing users to import these footages straight into the program for transcoding them to SD and HD formats.

The program features background batch encoding. This transcodes files in the background while allowing you to perform other tasks. Users can also streamline the encoding workflow by matching encoding settings to the original Adobe After Effects composition or Adobe Premiere Pro source sequence. Media Encoder CS5 also offers drag-and-drop encoding. The program can also be set to watch a certain folder, which encodes the files that arrives in that folder to a specified format instantly. Other features of this application includes Metadata output templates, interpreting footage options, crop/trim controls, FTP export, MPEG export options and more.
