Corel Graphics Applications

Corel Corporation (Proprietary)

CorelDRAW Graphics suite is a software package for editing vector graphics. It comes as a range of editing tools that includes “Draw X6 (an application for illustrating vectors and creating page layouts), “PowerTrace” (for converting graphics from bitmap to vector), “PhotoPaint” (for editing bitmap images), and “Capture” (for capturing the screen), and other components dedicated to enhancing graphics. Users can adjust the color balance and contrast, convert formats from RGB to CMYK color models, and put in special effects like vignettes.

CorelDraw has several functions that distinguishes it from other vector graphic editors. One is that it consists in a set of editing tools rather than simply a vector graphics application. Next, it is able to handle multiple pages with many master layers. Third, it can design smaller items such as business cards and invitations to their intended page size and impose them to the sheet size used in printers, which is useful for reducing costs in printing. In addition, CorelDraw is capable of opening Adobe PDF files and PowerPoint presentations without the need for an Adobe PDFWriter printer driver. It can likewise edit each aspect of the source design and layout of documents.

Some of the new features include Corel CONNECT X6, Advanced OpenType support, and Custom-built Color Harmonies. CONNECT X6 is a built-in search and extraction tool for content like fonts, graphics, images, and templates on a computer or a client’s web site. Advanced OpenType support lets users apply sophisticated open type typography features. Custom-built Color analyzes hues and colors to provide color schemes that complement users’ designs.
