Corel Digital Studio is a multimedia program for managing and editing photos and videos. The suite consists of several Corel programs including VideoStudio Express, PaintShop Express, DVD Factory, WinDVD, Instant Viewer, and Digital Studio Gadget. The media organizer makes it easy to import photos from digital cameras or camera phones. The gadget just needs to be plugged in to the computer and the program will automatically detect it. The application supports JPEG, TIFF, GIF, RAW, and PNG.
Corel Digital Studio has all the basic tools for editing photos including red-eye removal, straighten, crop, and resize. It also comes with a quick-fix feature that automatically makes corrections to the photo (contrast and brightness). There are even more tools at the right side of the window. These tools include frames, filters, and photo edges. In addition, the program also has beautifying tools – toothbrush, and suntan. The toothbrush tool can whiten discolored teeth, while the suntan tool adds a tan tint to washed-out skin tones. The video editing tool consists of basic video editing tools. Some of the tools included are trim, split, lighting correction, and video stabilizer. There is only one editing track for the video editor. The program also has built-in effects and filters.
