Dream Chronicles: The Chosen Child is a puzzle adventure game that was first released in 2009. This is the third game in the Dream Chronicles series of games. The game focuses on Faye, a woman who has just woken up from a dream spell. Upon waking up, she has no knowledge of who she is. She is guided by a man inside a crystal ball. The game belongs to the hidden object game genre wherein players are tasked to find different objects in a scene. In addition to the objects that need to be found in each scene, players must also find objects that will be placed in their inventory. These games will come in handy throughout the game.

In this game, players are free to roam around the different locations. All in all, there are 25 scenes to visit to look for items on the list. Furthermore, there are seven big areas that can be visited, such as The Village of Wish, The Treehouse Village, The Underwater Retreat, and The Eternal Maze. These are known as the Nexus Gateways and they can be unlocked by collecting golden nuggets and dream pieces. The story progresses as players visit more locations and find more items.
