Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic Editor

Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic Editor is an application that enables users to create and edit maps in the Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic game. The game is a fantasy strategy game, where players take on the role of a wizard and lead an army to establish and defend their territory, and attack enemy forces. The editor application allows users to create scenarios such as rivers, mountains, lakes, forests, and plains for the game. It is easy to use even for beginners to map editing and design.

The application has a toolbar with a Map tab which contains all of the different kinds of terrain. Behind this tab is the Events tab where users can create their own scripts. There are also Object tabs from which users can pick out map and unit objects they would like to place on the map they are creating or editing. A feature of this application is information on exactly where the user is working on: it shows the map coordinates, terrain objects within the work area, and the type of terrain base on the active map.

Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic Editor has an Editor Toolbar which contains the set of brushes that are most commonly used to create terrains with. It also contains the Save button and Validate Map button, which check the maps for correct coordinates and object placements.
