PeaZip is a file archiver for Windows and Linux. The program was first released in September 2006. It has basic and advanced features, which makes it easy to use for beginners, as well as advanced computer users. The program has a drag and drop feature. Users can drop a zip file on the program’s interface and the program will automatically decompress the file. Dropping regular files on the interface will bring up the archiving window. PeaZip supports more than 150 archive formats.

The software’s archive browser can be customized be setting the options in the ‘Organize’ menu. The file compression dialog box displays the options, such as the output directory, output format, and compression settings. Novice users can make use of the default settings to compress files.

In addition to compressing and decompressing files, PeaZip also allows users to convert existing files to different archive file formats. There is a ‘Convert’ button on the program’s window and users can select the file format from the ones available.
