TUGZip is an archiving application that is capable of zipping and unzipping files. It supports various archive file formats including ZIP, SQZ, TAR, CAB, TGZ, and many others. The program is integrated into the context menu, allowing users to zip and unzip files by choosing from the right click menu. The application has a simple and straightforward interface, which makes it ideal to use even for novice computer users. The main window has an explorer style interface set as the default view. However, this can be changed to the joint or classic style depending on the user’s preferences. Other special features of the application include repairing of archives, multi-extraction of contents from archive files, batch archive creation, archive converter, and encryption.

TUGZip also has an options menu where users can change the behavior of the application. Under Compression Settings, users can change the compression level, dictionary size, and the recovery data. There are also advanced options for multimedia compression, EXE compression, advanced span naming, and creating a solid archive.
