Windowpaper XP

SodaBush Development (Freeware)

Windowpaper XP is a program that allows the customization of the user’s Windows Explorer operating system feature. Specifically, this application permits the user to add images to the background of each window opened. For example, instead of a plain white background against which the user’s documents are set, Windowpaper XP permits the user to upload a custom image for visual interest. The user can specify which folders should have this kind of modification made to the background. There is the option to apply a custom background for a specific folder only, or for each of the subfolders in that particular main folder.

The user can choose from a variety of image file formats, such as GIF, JPG, and BMP. There is also the option to choose a certain color from the color palette instead of an image. Other customization options include specifying icon text color to complement the color or image in the background. In addition to enhancing the aesthetics and the overall user experience, picking a text color is also important as similarly or same-colored text and background may render it difficult for the user to read the text. Changes may be reversed by clicking on the program’s “Default” option.
