Galactic Civilizations II – Ultimate Edition is a turn-based strategy game developed and released by Stardock in 2012. It is a packaged set of the whole Galactic Civilizations II series, which includes Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords, Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar, and the recently released Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor. This game is set in the far future where humans have developed technology to venture into space. The gamers are also given the chance to select a map or a galaxy which they would compete over. The gameplay of the application provides freedom for gamers to decide how they wish to win against their opponents by way of different tactics and tools.

Galactic Civilizations II – Ultimate Edition’s key feature is that it brings in all of the most prominent features of all the expansion versions into one game. The gamers are given the option to select from a number of races, each of which has its own specific strengths and weaknesses. This would allow players to experience varied gameplay every time they play the game. Gamers are also given the option to custom-design 3D ships to use against their opponents. The game uses advanced graphics for a realistic feel. Players also get to select among three types of paired “offense-defense” weapons to be used by their factions.
