Arena 3.0

Arena is a graphical user interface for the game of chess. A graphical user interface is a component of the software where the user interacts with the machine by using graphic symbols. The elements of the interface such as the artwork and icons can be controlled through the use of the mouse as well as the keyboard. Chess, on the other hand, is a popular strategy board game where two players outwit each other on a 64-squared checkered gameboard. Each of the players has 16 pieces at the start of the game comprising of 1 king, 1 queen, 2 rooks, 2 knights, 2 bishops and 8 pawns. Each of these pieces has its own unique moves. The objective of the game is to put the king of the opponent on an inescapable position that is called “checkmate.”

Arena helps players in analyzing games as well as testing chess engines. It has a customizable interface that supports 19 languages. The detailed information displayed on the right side of the interface shows relevant information about the thinking process of the chess engines, allowing players to analyze games automatically. The interface supports connectivity which means that players can play online games against other players anywhere in the world.
