Ashampoo Movie Shrink & Burn 3 is a video compression application. It is used for resizing and converting video clips and digital movies to various formats. The program can also be used for burning videos to DVDs, video CDs, and BluRay disks.

The program’s interface is simple yet intuitive. The main interface offers four main options (DVD Player, Computer, PDAs, and Internet) with each option representing the target device for the created movies. The DVD Player and Computer options also offer two functions – burn movies or create movie files. After choosing the target device, users only have to choose the desired parameters. These include the output format, video type, DVD theme, write speed, DVD title, and others. For each target device, the available movie formats vary. For instance, under the PDA option, the available formats include MPEG-4 AVI, MPEG-2, MPEG-1, WMV, and MPEG-4 while under the DVD Player option, the available formats include Video DVDS, DivX, SVCD, and VCD.

Aside from this, the application also offers the following features:

• Copying Movies to Several DVDs – The application features a DVD burning function with the added ability of storing large movie files on multiple DVDs without losing quality.
• Video DVD Spanning – This feature allows the program to split large movie files into several DVDS automatically.
• CD Spanning – This feature allows the program to divide big movies to several CDs if needed.
