Lantern 3D Screensaver is an application that changes the computer’s screensaver to a lantern. The screensaver appears whenever the system has been idle for a set amount of time. The settings can be changed from the Windows Control Panel.

Lantern 3D Screensaver shows an oil lamp swaying in the dark. It casts an eerie glow on the dark surroundings. The camera pans around the lantern to show it in different views and the lantern continues to sway in the dark. The sound of gushing wind also plays along when the screensaver is active. The screensaver exits when the mouse cursor is moved. However, this setting can be changed by unchecking the box beside ‘Exit on mouse move’ under the configuration window. Unlike a standard screensaver, this one has settings that can be customized, which can be done in the configuration window.

Configurations for the screensaver include the video mode selection (size of the screensaver) and the monitor selection. Users can also select whether to use high or low texture quality. Additionally, the screensaver’s background sound can be enabled or disabled, or the user can set the volume by dragging the slider. The screensaver is easy to configure even for novice computer users.
