SumatraPDF 3.1

Krzysztof Kowalczyk (Open Source)

SumatraPDF is a lightweight PDF viewer that is small enough to fit in a thumb drive so users can take it anywhere, such that wherever they go or whatever PC they use, they can access their PDF files with convenience.

The program’s main feature is its simplicity and ease of use.  It provides all the functions that users need in a PDF viewer without the bulk, including the capability to rotate documents onscreen.  Files can also be viewed in single page, book view, or facing display.  Also, for ease of reading, users can zoom the pages in or out, and specify window size.  Moreover, it restores the settings which have been used last upon reopening.

SumatraPDF also has a search function which lets users find words within the document.  It supports hyperlinks, and even allows users to launch a new email message from within the program and attach the file to it.

Small as the program is,  opening large PDF files poses no problem.  It even has hotkey commands so users can manipulate their documents quite effortlessly.  Although it does not support creation and editing of PDF documents, it delivers its purpose well and offers convenient PDF viewing.  It works well as an ebook reader for reviewing office documents, manuals, and other PDF files.
