Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30 is a video game released in March 2005. This video game features an action, first-person shooter type of gameplay where players explore their environment and engage in combat with enemies in a first person perspective. It is the first title released under the Brothers In Arms series of video games. This video game is set in the European theater of World War II. Players would get to take the character of a paratrooper from the Parachute Infantry Regiment of the Airborne Division. Game levels are based on the unit’s tour of duty in mission Albany following the events after the Normandy invasion. Players would also get to use World War II weapons and equipment, such as the Colt 1911 pistol, M1 Garand Rifle, Browning Automatic Rifle, Thompson Submachine gun, M1903 Springfield rifle, fragmentation grenades, etc. Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30 has a gameplay that involves several combat objectives such as clearing enemy positions, capturing enemy bases, destroying tanks and bunkers, and eliminating enemy forces. This game requires accurate shooting skills and careful ammunition management in order to achieve game objectives and finish the level.

In the game, players get to command one or two teams comprised of 2 to 3 members. The number of teams and team members vary depending which level the player is currently playing. Teams are divided into two types: a fire team and assault team. The Fire team is tasked with providing a large volume of suppressive fire and is armed with rifles and automatic weapons. On the other hand, assault teams are characterized with quick assaults towards enemy positions and are armed with lighter submachine guns and carbines. The game includes an intuitive command system that allows players to task their teams to provide suppressive fire, find cover, rally, and assault the enemy.
