Adobe Contribute CS5

Adobe Systems, Inc. (Proprietary)

Adobe Contribute CS5 is a web publishing application published by Adobe Systems Incorporated. Macromedia originally developed this program until the company was acquired by Adobe. The company first included Adobe Contribute to the Adobe Creative Suite on CS3. The CS5 version is a component of the Creative Suite 5 Master Collection and Web Premium. However, it can also be purchased as a standalone application.

The CS5 version offers new addition to the Contribute program. It features predefined content types, which enables specification of XML templates, Dreamweaver templates, and workflows used to create new webpage based on its content types. This version features XML editing as well allowing users to edit site-related XML contents without the need to launch a separate XML editor. The program can also check browser compatibility by previewing the website on different browsers. There is also the Spry Widget Editing feature, which is used for editing data included in different types of Spry widgets.

Contribute CS5 features a search-and-replace functionality. This is used for updating the information on several open webpage drafts. This version also offers image hotspot and subversion support. Aside from this, the CS5 version also enables Server Side Include (SSI) editing. Creating W3-compliant codes that are compatible with Dreamweaver is possible as well. It also provides image and text enhancements such as creating subscript/superscript texts and other image editing functions.
