WinSCP 5.7.6

Martin Prikryl (Freeware)

WinSCP, also known as Windows Secure CoPy, is an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and SSH File Transfer Protocol client. It allows users to transfer files securely between a remote computer and a local computer. Apart from this, the program can also be used as a file manager. The program has two available interfaces – Orthodox File Manager and Explorer Interface. Explorer interface is similar to the Windows interface, while the Orthodox File Manager interface is used by those who like working with the keyboard rather than the mouse. This preference can be chosen upon installation and can be changed from the options later on.

The program can also be used as a remote editor. Users can open a file on the remote file manager and edit it with the built-in editor. Editing can also be done using local editors. Each time the file is saved when changes are made, the remote version is automatically updated. WinSCP has some special commands for easier navigation. These commands include going to the parent directory, root directory, home directory, and also forward and backward on the directory history.

Other notable features of WinSCP include the following:
Supports SFTP and SCP over SSH-1 and SSH-2
Directory synchronization
Batch file scripting and command-line interface
Supports portable operation for removable media
Windows integration
