Tiberian Sun

Westwood Studios (Freeware)

Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun is a real-time strategy game that was initially released in 1999. The game is one of the titles in the Command and Conquer series of video games. The game takes place in 2030, during the second war between the GDI (Global Defense Initiative) and the Brotherhood of the Nod. There are three different factions in the game – the GDI, Nod, and the non-playable faction The Forgotten. The storyline is continued from the events of the original Command & Conquer game.

Players are presented with different routes in the game. Some of the routes lead to other side missions that will have an overall effect on the difficulty of the main objective. In some cases, the player is rewarded with more units and technology that can be beneficial. The game also features new technology, such as railgun weapons, military-grade walker technology, ion cannon advancements, and projected defense shields. Nod has also improved their technology with the mobile artillery, subterranean technology, and tiberium weaponry. Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun has two possible endings, depending on the faction the player chooses.

Firestorm, the free expansion pack for the game, was released in 2000. The expansion pack focuses on the story of the GDI campaign in the main game.
