Pure Codec Player

Dio Software (Freeware)

Pure Codec Player is an audio and video codec pack developed by Dio in 2011. Pure Codec Player allows users to play the majority of music and video file formats available in the market. It also enables HDTV playback. It provides users with an encoding video and audio codec pack bundled together with three multimedia players with which the codec pack will work. These multimedia players are Media Player Classic, PotPlayer, and KMPlayer.

Pure Codec Player supports almost all video file formats including MKV, MTS, AVI, MPG, DVD, MP4, and FLV. This program also supports almost all music file formats including MP3, WMA, AMR, FLC, and MIDI.

Pure Codec Player user interface features five tabs—Choose Decoders, Player, Other, File Assoc, and About. Choose Decoders tab includes options for the user to change the Decode mode, Video renderer, and Subtitle. Users may even configure which Decoders will be used for each type of file format like the MPEG2 Decoder, H.264 Decoder, and DIVX/XVID Decoders. It also features choices for the AVI Splitter, MKV Splitter, MP4 Splitter, and OGM Splitter. The Player tab allows the users to choose which players to use the program with. If the user decides not to dabble with the specifics, there is a Codecs Repair button, which restores the program to the default settings. The Codecs Repair button may be found under the Others tab.
