Sublight is an application that delivers subtitles from online sources. When the program launches, the settings wizard lets users set the language, view mode, video playback, and the plug-ins to be used. It has a simple interface that consists of four main tabs – Subtitle search, Publish subtitle, Contact Us, and Settings. The Subtitles search window is where users can look for subtitles for movies. Search terms can be typed in on the criteria for auto search or criteria for manual search fields. There is also a results filtering option that enables users to set the language and type of subtitle to search for. The lower part of the main window shows the results of the search together with other information, such as the title, year, media type, language, size, etc.

Sublight is capable of auto detecting subtitles for more than 150,000 movies and television episodes. It has plug-in support that allows users to access subtitle files from different sources. Additionally, the program comes with Subtitle Edit, a subtitle editor for making changes to subtitle files.
