D-Fend Reloaded

Alexander Herzog (Freeware)

D-Fend Reloaded is a program that provides users with an accessible graphical environment for DOSBox. DOSBox is a type of emulator software that allows users to run an old operating system called MS DOS. D-Fend Reloaded is primarily used to run DOS-based video games that are not compatible with modern 32 bit or 64-bit operating systems. D-Fend Reloaded provides tools that allow users to view a list of MS DOS games as well as various game information such as genre, year of publication, developer, and file size. Users can also configure the game view to display games according to category.

D-Fend Reloaded features a simple interface that is divided into four parts. The first part is the toolbar located on the top portion of the program window. The toolbar contains various tools that execute actions such as Run, Add, Edit, Delete, plus a search bar that allows users to locate DOS games using a keyword. Next part is the directory tree panel located on the left side of the screen. This section provides a master list of games that are sorted according to category. Another part displays a detailed list of folder contents selected using the directory tree. Last part is the preview area where users can view screenshots of the game as well as sounds, videos, notes, and the game’s data folder.
