Device Doctor

Device Doctor is an application that scans the computer to see if there are updates available for the drivers that are installed. The program’s interface is simple. It is divided in three parts begin scan, scanning progress, and the results. To start a driver scan, click on ‘Begin Scan’ at the top portion of the main window. The scan’s progress can be viewed under ‘Scanning for updates’. After the scan, the results will be shown at the bottom part of the main window under ‘Download driver updates’. On the results pane, users can view the name of the driver that needs to be updates, as well as a download link for the update. Click on the download update button beside the name. Device Doctor provides a device name for the unknown drivers that are found in the system, too.

Device Doctor is capable of finding the right drivers for popular computer manufacturers. Its database consists of more than three terabytes of drivers. The program is automatically updated regularly to ensure that driver versions are available to users as soon as they are released by hardware manufacturers. Device Doctor can be used even when the computer is not connected to the Internet. After scanning an offline computer, users can transfer the results to a computer connected to the Internet and download the drivers that are needed from there.
