The Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a program used to increase download speeds (up to 5x), schedule, and resume downloads. The program speeds up downloads using its download logic accelerator that offers secure multipart downloading and dynamic file segmentation.

The Internet Download Manager application features Resume Capability and Comprehensive Error Recovery allowing users to continue interrupted or broken downloads because of computer shutdown, network issues or lost Internet connection.

The application also provides an option to use the program from the command line or through drag-and-drop. The application can also be used to set the time to dial the modem, download the files and have the option to disconnect from the modem or turn off the computer once downloads are complete.

The Internet Download Manager application includes a download panel allowing the downloading of flash video files. The program also offers support for Windows Vista and Windows 7, Redeveloped Scheduler, MMS Protocol Support and YouTube Grabber as well as integration for IE web browsers.
  
The program supports different formats including cookies, ftp and http protocols, proxy servers, MPEG video content, MP3 audio content, and authorization. It also supports different web browsers including Mozilla Firebird, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, AOL, Netscape, Internet Explorer, MSN Explorer, Avant Browser, MyIE2, Google Chrome, and so much more.
