Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Proprietary)

Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard is a program developed by Adobe Systems and was released in July 2008. This program is the ninth upgrade released by Adobe Systems for the Adobe Acrobat platform. Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard allows users to view, create, edit, print, and manage PDF files. PDF or Portable Document Format is a file format used to contain text and graphics data that is independent of application software, hardware, or operating systems. Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard contains viewing tools such as zooming buttons, table of contents panel, and page layout selector. This program also contains features used to select and highlight text data, place graphic elements such as graphs, images, and logos to the PDF file. Users can also create a new PDF file, save a PDF file to a folder, print a PDF file, or email it to another user. In addition to these, Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard allows users to organize their PDF files into folders that are arranged into different categories.

Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard features several enhancements from its previous versions. This program contains features that allow users to play Flash Video (FLV), or H.264 videos in its user interface, export PDF files using Optical Character Recognition (OCR), as well as features used in creating maps with geospatial data and coordinates. Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard also supports other Adobe programs such as Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Professional in order to open PDF 1.7 files and store or share files over the Adobe network.
